Abstract

In this chapter a procedure for parameters identification using an algebraic identification method for a continuous time constant linear system is described. A specific application in the determination of the parameters mass-spring-damper system is made. The method is suitable for simultaneously identifying, both, the spring constant and the damping coefficient. It is found that the proposed method is computationally fast and robust with respect to noises. The identification algorithm is verified by simulation results. The estimations are carried out on-line. © Springer Science+Business Media B.V. 2009.
