Abstract

This chapter introduces and reviews the main models, evidence of antecedents and outcomes and the relationship of engagement, happiness and well-being with other concepts such as life or job satisfaction,'flourishing', organisational commitment and others. Well-being, happiness and engagement can be positioned on several axes, including positive/negative and active/passive. As noted, the ideal can be described as a state of active committed enthusiasm.
