Abstract

Internet of Things is entering our daily life at a fast pace, with physical devices connected to the internet, collecting and sharing data. In this paper, we describe the design issues of a smart coaster that brings the IoT technology in bars and clubs. The device enables new IoT services and facilities associated with traditional drink glasses. Exploiting this practical example, we present a methodological approach to the IoT design.
