Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the level of students' generic skill of Malay Literature learning. Among the elements of generic skills who wish to review are communication skills, ICT skills, leadership skills, teamwork skills, and critical thinking and problem solving skills. This research is to see the difference with generic skills based on gender. A total of 295 Form 4 students who took Malay Literature subject as an elective subject in Tumpat, Kelantan made respondents. The questionnaire used in this study to collect data. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 18 as a tool for data descriptive descriptive and inferential. The result shows students generic skills in the medium level. In addition, there were significant differences between students' generic skills genders t (295) = 2236, p <0.05. The implication study are generic skills in students to help them prepare to compete for jobs in the future. © 2013 Penerbit UTM Press. All rights reserved.
