The paper aims to identify the main approaches to the literature on the issue of education quality. It held a systematization of a set of texts indicates five cuts of the main themes in question. The first links it to the process of expansion of schooling, especially primary education, which forged a new educational reality in the country, designing quality as a policy measure. The second sees the results measured by evidence of a large scale the main significance of quality that circulates in society. The following associates the development of a quality agenda economist perspective. A fourth proposes cutting quality to be examined in light of issues related to diversity. The latter proclaims that the question which emerges when discussing the issue of quality is the very model of education regulations.
