Abstract

This paper presents an ubiquitous system to control the atmosphere and substrate based on precision agriculture paradigm. The design we proposed consists of an embedded system, which integrates a reconfigurable FPGA module, a computational CPU module, and a power manager module. The embedded system is able to do environmental monitoring and control, and to manage the power supply of the FPGA and CPU modules, in order to decide which module supplies if the energy is not enough for both. We have assembled a first prototype in the laboratory, based on two independent and interconnected modules, in order to validate the processes modularly and also acquire all the necessary information to establish properly the requirements of the final design. After its implementation and experimentation, we have obtained satisfactory results.
