This article describes the conceptual proposal of measuring erosion of rock formations using protection networks. It outlines the concept of two types of wireless sensors of a steel retaining network tension and a data concentrator unit, which cyclically reads the measured data from these wireless sensors. The measured data is then sent to the parental monitoring system, which is used for archiving, visualization and data processing. Communication between the wireless nodes and the data concentrator is based on the IQRF technology.
