Given the importance of research into the teaching profession in higher education within the educational psychology, this study aimed to assess the relationship of teaching to the constitution of subjective senses in the process of teaching and learning in higher education. Data analysis was substantiated by Jusevicius (2006), González Rey (2005; 2007), Stangherlim (2007) Marine-Araujo (2009). The results revealed that the teaching profession is strongly related to the constitution of subjective senses in higher education, involving both the academic aspect, as professionals and behavioral aspects; and that there is a strong influence dialectic between teachers and students in this process, and the socio-historical-cultural context is constituted and constituent of meanings in educational spaces of higher education.
