Abstract

This study performed a preliminary assessment on manufacturer's point calibration method by comparing it with a modified calibration setup by using an Air Bladder. Rather than having a subject participated in the calibration process, the modified calibration setup used the calibration bladder to mimic the force applied by the subject to generate a calibration fit. This assessment also includes a sensor performance evaluation by using both methods to monitor the overall performance of the sensor after every experiment. Result shows a large difference between manufacturer's calibration and modified calibration where the manufacturer's calibration tends to show an irregular sensor performance. © 2008 Springer-Verlag.
