Abstract

Considers how children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) function in peer and school settings. Profiles of social dysfunction in children with ADHD are examined and processes that might help account for these problems are delineated. Immediate and long term consequences of social dysfunction are considered. A section on possible gender differences in development and characteristics of ADHD is included. School settings, learning environments and academic achievement are also examined. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2021 APA, all rights reserved)
