The spatial and temporal characteristics of passenger flow distribution in urban mass transit network are foundation and core for cooperative transportation organization. However urban mass transit is a complex and dynamic system, which is difficult to be described in a global mathematical model. In this thesis we put forward a simulation model based on multi-agent approach to analyze passenger flow distribution. Using real passenger flow data simulated in this system we verify accuracy and computation efficiency of the model. The simulation results show that it well depicts passengers' whole travelling process and can be used to evaluate the strategies and status of network. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2013.
