Abstract

Due to limited spatial resolution of CT scanners, cortices with submillimeter thickness are substantially blurred, which leads to problems when estimating their extent and intensity. In the present work, we used three different algorithms to determine cortical thickness, cortical bone mineral density and cortical bone mineral content and investigated their ability to detect a change of these three parameters.
