Abstract

In this chapter, the generation of a textured 3D model of the Pampa de Nasca by means of digital photogrammetry is described. The whole workflow, from image acquisition, image orientation, generation of a Digital Terrain Model (DTM), and an orthomosaic as well as the 3D visualisation of these photogrammetric products is presented and discussed. Furthermore, limitations and problematic factors influencing the quality of automatically derived DTMs and commercial as well as an in-house developed software for DTM generation were evaluated within this project.
