Abstract

Some vendors of various software solutions offer to put their code into escrow for future use were they to go out of business; however, this provision is no substitution for full open and continuous access to the code. . Like software escrow promises, this is a short-term solution to our long-term problems in curation of our valuable materials within our repositories
