Abstract

PT. Kaltim Methanol Industry is one of the firms in Bontang that is involved in petrochemicals. One of the goods manufactured by PT. KMI is methanol. So far, only PT. KMI has produced methanol in Indonesia. PT KMI is located in the industrial area of PT. Kaltim Industrial Estate (KIE), a subsidiary of PT. Pupuk Kalimantan Timur is approximately 110 kilometers north of Samarinda City, the capital of East Kalimantan Province. The successful establishment of the Methanol Park green area in partnership with the Bontang City Government demonstrates PT. KMI's commitment to the environment. The vegetation in the methanol park is likewise quite diverse. There are 39 species from 14 families, with Acacia mangium Willd having the highest INP value throughout all levels of life. The methanol park's diversity is classed as modest, with high evenness and low dominance values. Furthermore, the majority of the species in the methanol park are not endangered; only three are highly endangered, and all three are from the Shorea genus.Keyword : Green open space, PT.
