Abstract

Canel Madencilik Tic. ve. San. A.S. a Turkish lignite mining company, attributes the increased profitability of its operations to the acquisition of a new set of modern haulers. The company has doubled its hauling capacity and at the same time reduced cycle times since the purchase of a fleet of upgraded A35 haulers in 1993. Comparative reports have it, though, that none of its existing haulers are able to work in extreme situations caused by unfavorable weather conditions. Nonetheless, the performance of the A 35's in terms of overburden stripping will keep them ahead of the competition.
