Abstract

Studies of sustained attention suggest that task versions made demanding by a) high event rates b) degraded stimuli c) working memory loads and other manipulations are prone to show perceptual sensitivity decrements over time (see also Davies and Parasumaran, 1982 for a review). Authors attribute this to depletion of attentional resources resulting from prolonged work
