Abstract

Research projects conducted on displays and a digital acquisition device using physical and perceptual measures of image quality, both separately and in combination are described. CRT characterization, spatial resolution requirements, and the effect of delay in computed radiography imaging plate read-out are examined. It is the authors' belief that physical and psychophysical measures of image quality must contribute to the design and development of a TDRD (total digital radiology department).
