Abstract

The authors comment based on systematic reviews and metanalys about hepatitis C, especially in relation to diagnosis and treatment. There was great progress in the diagnosis, with new tests. The advances in the treatment, although important, have not been sufficient for, there is a need especially for new and more efficacious medication with fewer side effects. The authors comment the treatment for alcoholic addict patients, for HIV patients and the co-infection hepatitis C and B. They mention the importance of HC recurrent pos hepatic transplant and the relevance of non-existence of vaccine against HC. © Copyright Moreira Jr. Editora.
