Abstract

This paper presents a new technique for supporting query formulation and processing experimentally integrated in the OpenDLib search service. This technique provides a better support for unified search by enhancing the capability of the digital library to satisfy the user needs. The paper presents the theory underlying the proposed technique and describes how it has been exploited in the OpenDLib system. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2004.
