Abstract

The energy transition has become a key political issue in many countries. The main emphasis of responses to climate change challenges is in transforming the energy system from high to low carbon energy supply and in decoupling energy demand from economic growth. The general principles of energy policy objectives comprise the three paradigms of economic efficiency, security of energy supply and environmental compatibility.
