Alternative pointing devices for handling the computer are often needed by people with disabilities. These pointing devices are in most cases not compatible with other aids, which are stand alone devices. This paper points out the development of a converter hardware which allows the use of alternative pointing devices with each aid like talkers, computers etc. In Addition different practical usages with this developed converter hardware are shown. © Springer-Verlag 2004.
