Abstract

A 78-year-old man with gastric diffuse large B cell lymphomapresented with persistent Helicobacter canis bacteremia whilereceiving chemotherapy. An examination of his medicalhistory revealed a close exposure to dogs. The patientrecovered after 4 weeks of antibiotic therapy. Immunocompromisedpersons who maintain close contacts with dogs maybe at risk for this infection. © 2010 Urban & Vogel.
