Revisión de las tecnologías para la evaluación de pavimentos flexibles

Abstract

RESUMEN Los pavimentos en la actualidad sufren deterioros antes del tiempo pensado, causando accidentes e incomodidad en las personas, así como la necesidad de reiterar las operaciones de refuerzo una y otra vez, para verlas destruirse en muy cortos lapsos. Frente a ello, el objetivo de este artículo fue detallar la evolución de las diferentes tecnologías que permiten evaluar los pavimentos. Metodológicamente, el estudio se basó en un análisis cualitativo-documental, a partir del cual se valoraron los artículos de revistas de alto impacto publicados recientemente, identificando los principales aportes de la tecnología para la evaluación de pavimentos flexibles. La tecnología de pavimentos ha ido evolucionando desde simples parámetros de inspección visual, a bases de datos maestras, en software y hardware de evaluación del pavimento, que predicen y evalúan estadísticamente, la aparición de las patologías y su respectiva toma de decisiones, procedimientos correctivos y preventivos de mantenimiento. Estas tecnologías reducen la actividad del personal, a través de imágenes, ultrasonidos, imagen satelital e infrarroja, así como el presupuesto a gastar. Mantienen el servicio en óptimas condiciones, el flujo del tráfico estable y continuo, por ende, la salud de los peatones y conductores. ABSTRACT The pavements at present suffer deterioration before the time thought causing accidents and discomfort in people, as well as the need to repeat the reinforcement operations over and over again, to see them destroyed in very short periods of time. Faced with this, the objective of this article was to detail the evolution of the different technologies that allow evaluating pavements. Methodologically, the study was based on a qualitative-documentary analysis, from which recently published high-impact journal articles were evaluated, identifying the main contributions of technology for the evaluation of flexible pavements. It is concluded that, pavement technology has evolved from simple visual inspection parameters, to master databases, in pavement evaluation software and hardware, which statistically predict and evaluate the appearance of pathologies and their respective decision-making, corrective procedures and preventive maintenance. These technologies reduce staff activity, through imaging, ultrasound, satellite and infrared image, as well as the budget to spend. They maintain the service in optimal conditions, the flow of stable and continuous traffic, therefore, the health of pedestrians and drivers.
