Describes a set of 3 workshops for the parents of preschool, latency-age, and adolescent learning-disabled children. The workshops focus on issues such as the ways in which a learning disability can affect development, the effect of deficits in motor and social skills on relations with peers, methods of maintaining the child's self-esteem, and the parents' own reactions to the disability. The advantages of such workshops are discussed in relation to the social support, information, and group discussion that can be provided. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2012 APA, all rights reserved)
