PENSAR A POLÍTICA NA ÁFRICA

Abstract

Para introduzir o tema da filosofia e política em África,  deliberadamente escolheremos por pensar filosoficamente a política (e não o político) na África. Alguns verão isso como uma ingerência no território tradicional da sociologia política ou da ciência política. No entanto, duas razões principais justificam tal escolha: a primeira diz respeito ao fato de que sempre se quis, desde Platão e Aristóteles, confinar a reflexão filosófica sobre o político seja à sua essência, seja às suas características fundamentais, distinguindo o aspecto normativo do aspecto positivo. Assim, a reflexão de Platão sobre a cidade ideal não corruptível em A República conduziu à compreensão da filosofia política como uma ciência arquitetônica: para que uma cidade seja justa, é indispensável que ela seja dirigida pelo filósofo ou pelo rei que será iniciado na ciência filosófica. A ciência filosófica e a ciência política se definem da mesma maneira, como a “a arte de dirigir a cidade de acordo com a justiça”.To introduce the theme of philosophy and politics in Africa, we will deliberately choose to think philosophically politics (and not politics) in Africa. Some will see this as an interference in the traditional territory of political sociology or political science. However, two main reasons justify such a choice: the first concerns the fact that it has always been intended, since Plato and Aristotle, to confine philosophical reflection on the political to either its essence or its fundamental characteristics, distinguishing the normative aspect from the positive aspect. Thus, Plato’s reflection on the undecorruptible ideal city in The Republic led to the understanding of political philosophy as an architectural science: for a city to be just, it is indispensable that it be directed by the philosopher or by the king who will be initiated into philosophical science. Philosophical science and political science define themselves in the same way, as the "art of running the city according to justice".
