Abstract

The Aharonov-Bohm effect on optical absorption of light polarizedperpendicularly to the tube axis in semiconducting carbon nanotubesis studied. The excitation energy quadratically decreases with theflux around zero in contrast to the linear splitting for light polarizedparallel to the axis.
