Abstract

This paper defines a set of program restructuring operations (refactorings) that support the design, evolution and reuse of java application. Long parameter list and Shotgun surgery most complex refactorings are defined. Degree of coupling and cohesion is calculated to check whether these bad smell having low cohesive and high coupling or not. Removing these bad smells is one way of avoiding problems that arise due to the presence of bad smells. This makes the source code more maintainable and more comprehensible. © 2013 Springer.
