Abstract

LaF3 doped with Dy3+, Er3+, or Ho3+ and Cr3+-doped Al2O3 (ruby) can be used in detg. the temp. of a condensed phase in combustion or heating by laser radiation. The particles are embedded in a propellant-like or energetic material and the laser-induced fluorescence spectra are detd. These spectra are used to calc. the temp. on the basis of the fluorescence lifetime. [on SciFinder(R)]
