Abstract

Our paper presents the conceptual framework and the realization of the first Bachelor Programme in Financial Mathematics in Bulgaria which has been introduced in the University of Ruse. Using the method of description this study shows the reasons which motivated the realization of this educational project, its objectives and the set of means to achieve them. The study presents the curriculum of the Bachelor programme focusing on its relatedness to the professional competence of the prospective graduates, which is seen as a response to the urgent requirements of the national economy of Bulgaria at present. As a result of the implementation of the project, from the beginning of the 2013-2014 academic year at the University of Ruse, 68 students have entered the BSc program in Financial Mathematics, of which 30 have completed their training. Half of graduates continue their master's degree studies and the rest of them have found their strong and successful realization.
