Abstract

A new species is described for the genus Pharneuptychia Forster, 1964 based on specimens collected in the project "Characterization of the entomofauna of the Área Natural Unica Los Estoraques (ANULE)". The proposed species is so far typical from the study area, but several similar species not described are found close to the border with the department of Santander and areas bordering Venezuela. This species is characteristic of open areas of the Dry Forest in the province of Ocaña, Norte de Santander, Colombia.
