Abstract

Hyperhidrosis represents a benign disease; whose cause is unknown; it is secondary to the dysfunction of the eccrine glands due to cholinergic overstimulation and its diagnosis is usually clinical. There are two types of hyperhidrosis: idiopathic or secondary to neoplasms, infections and medications, among others. It is an illness with significant impact on the quality of life of the patient. There are several treatments available, medical and surgical; the first one is mainly effective in the management of mild to moderate hyperhidrosis.
