An introduction to the hybrid HS-SQP method and its applications

Abstract

This chapter aims to present recent developments and applications concerning optimization with the hybrid HS-SQP method. This method has been successfully utilized in several engineering applications. In addition to the introduction of the concept of HS-SQP method, this chapter also presents some selected representative case studies covering synthesis of cost-optimal heat exchanger networks and economic utilization of electric power systems. © 2010 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
