Abstract

Facemasks are used worldwide in the prevention of transmission in COVID-19, causing a shortage during the pandemic. A plethora of controversial evidence on the effectivity of using different types of facemasks exists. If used irrationally/inappropriately, facemasks could cause more harm than providing protection from COVID-19.
