Abstract

Combination therapy with two nucleosides has been shown to improve clinical outcome compared with zidovudine monotherapy. There is every expectation that more potent antiretroviral combination regimens will increase the clinical benefits. However, this remains to be proven definitively. The increasing number of choices of antiretroviral therapies create new challenges for those studying and those using these therapies.
