Abstract

No abstract. Notes jv: Stressed syllables were assummed to be producted with greater articulatory, especiallay expiratory, force and thus greater itensity than unstressed counter part (Sweet, 1890, Passy, 1895, etc.) longer: Parmenter and Trevino (1935) Stetson assumed a specail sensitivity ot laryngeal muscles to other muscles' vo cotraction and Ohala knows no prove of it. Ladefoged, 1967, found a temporary increase in the activiy of the expiratory muscles and in the Ps. but the major part of Fo variations wre due to changes in the tension of the vocal folds.
