Abstract

This paper analyzes the dynamics in terms of the creation of technology-based firms in different Andalusian universities, identifying their shortcomings, strengths, and a profile of the EBTs and their entrepreneurship. From this, the authors propose, on the one hand, a broad definition of these technology companies, incorporating its territorial dimension and its structuring within innovation systems, and, secondly, the establishment of a conceptual framework which collects the set of characteristics and requirements which, in our view, constitute the most important factors to promote the creation of technology-based firms in a territory. Finally, it sets out a proposed improvement measures aimed at boosting regarding the creation of these firms and their consolidation, so that they can contribute to increasing the competitiveness of the territories.
