This chapter details the layers of the abdominal wall and groin, discusses clinically relevant anatomy, and mentions physiology germane to abdominal wall function. The chapter highlights several aspects of anatomy and physiology that are important to consider when planning an incision, operation, or managing postoperative complications of the abdominal wall and groin.
