Abstract

Agrotinae in the USSR damage the stems of potato in the upper soil layer and also hollow out the pulp of the tubers, the most dangerous species being the heart-and-dart moth [Agrotis exclamationis], Iceland moth [Euxoa islandica rossica] and turnip moth [A. segetum]. General descriptive notes are given on the different stages, together with a short account of the bionomics and control of these pests.
