Abstract

Biological specimens impregnated with heavy metal are observed in an SEM equipped with a sensitive BSE detector. The SE image and the BSE image are successively recorded under the same conditions. Both pictures are displayed coincidentally on a screen, using two projectors of the same type, but with different color filters. The resulting color picture is photographed with color film. Specific regions of the specimen which were impregnated with heavy metal are clearly demonstrated. Copyright © 1980 Foundation for Advances in Medicine and Science, Inc.
