This work intends to test the capabilities of a configurable digital system for signal digitizing and processing for human tremor measurement. It was used the ADXL203 capacitive accelerometer due to its characteristics. The employed FPGA was programmed using the combination of Matlab/Simulink and Xilinx System Generator platform. Digitized signal was sent to computer via RS-232 and this data is stored and processed by a program performed using LabWindows. This work constitutes a low cost choice for data acquisition system implementation and reveals the possibility of solving real problems as a tool for neurological disease diagnostic. © 2013 Springer.
