New distributional data concerning some Gerromorpha (Insecta: Hemiptera: Heteroptera) from Brazil

Abstract

Distributional information is provided for 51 Gerromorpha species from Brazil, including first species records from the states of Alagoas, Paraíba, and Sergipe. Hydrometra comata, Microvelia picinguaba, M. ubatuba, and Rhagovelia robusta are newly recorded from the Northern region of Brazil; Mesovelia amoena, Husseyella halophila, Microvelia longipes, M. mimula, M. venustatis, Rhagovelia hambletoni, R. mangle, R. robusta, and R. whitei, from the Northeastern region; Cylindrostethus erythropus and Rhagovelia rivulosa, from the Central-Western region; Mesovelia bila, from the Southeastern region; and Oiovelia brasiliensis and Rhagovelia sooretama, from the Southern region.
