Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the Discovery Learning learning model with scarpbook media on student learning outcomes in economic subjects. The research method used is quasi experimental with the form of non-equivalent control group design. This form of experimental design is a development of true experimental design, which is difficult to implement. This design has a control group, but cannot function fully to control outside variables that affect the implementation of the experiment. However, this design is better than pre-exsperimental design. The research population was XI social studies class students at SMAN 1 Manonjaya which amounted to 176 students, while the research sample with purpose sampling technique consisted of 35 students of XI social studies class 2 (control class) and 34 students of XI social studies class 1 (experiment class). The results showed that there was an influence on the discovery learning model with the help of scrapbook media in improving student learning outcomes in economics subjects on national income material, where Ha was accepted if the Sig. (2-tailed) value ≤ 5% or 0.05 and based on the results of the study obtained a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 <0.05. The average score of the experimental class was higher than that of the experimental class. The average score of the experimental class is higher than the control class, thus it can be concluded in this study that the discovery learning model with the help of scrapbook media can improve student learning outcomes.
