Abstract

The Detached Eddy Simulation (DES) turbulence model presented by Spalart et al. (Comments on the Feasibility of LES for Wings, and on a Hybrid RANS/LES Approach, [1]) in the late 90s, was specifically designed to simulate those flow configurations where massive separation was involved.
