We propose a spectral-geometric skeletal graph for nonrigid 3D shape retrieval. The skeleton is constructed from the isocontours of the second eigenfunction of the Laplace-Beltrami operator. We also introduce a graph matching mechanism based on a dissimilarity between the endpoints of the skeletal graph. Experimental results on a database of 3D models demonstrate the feasibility of our proposed framework. © 2013 Springer-Verlag.
