Abstract

In this report a square patch with triangular shaped defect on the edges of the patch has been studied to achieve circular polarization. The structure under study also provides 16.15% miniaturization compared to the conventional regular square patch antenna. The triangular shaped defected patch edge integrated square patch antenna offers 3.75 dBi of gain and 6.26 dBi of directivity. The design and the simulated results are discussed thoroughly in this report to give a clear idea about the working of such structure. The proposed antenna is very much useful to the applications whether circular polarization with moderate gain and directivity required from a small planer microstrip antenna.
