Abstract

The worldwide prevalence of obesity has tripled since 1970. Currently overweight and obesity affect almost two billion individuals in the world. In France, class I obesity has doubled in young individuals between the years 2013-2016 but not in other obesity classes neither in other age classes. Obesity mainly affects individuals with low socioeconomic background. Data from the ObEpi 2020 study indicate a prevalence of obesity of 17%.
