Abstract

The management of research and knowledge in Colombian universities directly and indirectly benefits innovation, creativity, assimilation and adaptation to changes through the application of knowledge as strategic resources in the research process. Therefore, the article seeks to reflect on the management of research and knowledge to identify areas of demand and detention of needs, implement mechanisms for promotion, dissemination and placement of research products in the markets. Theoretically it was based on researchers such as Muro (2004); Santillan (2010); y Soto (2011). The study was approached from the interpretive perspective, in a theoretical, documentary context. The results recognize the potentialities of the members of the university organization, their knowledge and skills, as well as the real needs of the social and productive environment, to channel the research work towards socialized knowledge. It is concluded that Colombian universities, as a scientific community, should create, analyze and discuss agreements based on the University-State-Society triad, turning technology into an ally for development, the construction of prosperous communities, with a prospective vision, in scenarios that favor the potential of socially constructed knowledge.
