Array antenna technology is well established in communication which is mainly used for beam formation and beam sharpening.A narrow beam creation will increase the antenna gain towards a specific direction which is very helpful in target detection using modern Radar. Array antenna is consisting of several antenna elements, which help to create beam formation in space. Three types of beam formation are possible using array formation they are, Analog Beamforming, Digital Beamforming, and Hybrid Beamforming. Digital beamforming is little bit low-cost solution, where active beam rotation is not required, in case of analog and hybrid beam formation active phase shifter, amplifiers are required in behind of each antenna element to rotate the physical beam in the desired direction which is a little costly solution. In this article digital beamforming based array radar is simulated for moving target detection which may be very much helpful for automotive application. This kind of radar system may help the vehicular industry to produce the automated driverless car.
