The use of innovative tools is a key element in the improvement of the educational process, and consequently, the use of the didactic game can be a great tool to improve not only the students' learning, but also to improve the expectations of the teacher. For this reason, this research tries to find out what teachers and students understand about didactic games. Starting from a qualitative methodology, we approach a descriptive-interpretative study of the information from 31 interviews made to Primary Education teachers as well as to students who are in internship and in their last year of their initial training. The results indicate that although each one categorizes it with a different notion, that is, as a resource, challenge, activities, tools, concept, etc. the purpose is the same for everyone, that is, they seek learning through this, taking into account the playful dimension. In addition, to cover all the dimensions of the student so that learning becomes integral through innovative elements.
